MAC for Chen Man

With so many awesome collections coming up, there was only one thing I really wanted from the Chen Man – Play it Proper Beauty Powder

But before we get to that, who is Chen Man….only China’s foremost fashion photographer.  Her work is just amazing – check it

So for this collaboration, there were lots of pretty blues, pinks and purples – mineralise eyeshadows, pigments, lipsticks, lipglass, nailpolishes – lots of stuff but I was particularly keen on the beauty powder.

MAC’s beauty powders are limited edition, but it seems like there’s always one in a collection.  MAC describe them as “A silky-soft “beauty” powder that’s delicately tinted and luxuriously pearl. Goes on as an ultra-fine shimmering “veil” to the skin. Can be applied as a highlight, soft blush or overall finish.”  Play it Proper is “Pastel soft pink with sparkles”, I wouldn’t say its sparkly though – more of a pearly sheen.  I’ve been using it mostly as a highlighter but it also works wonderfully as a lightly all-over finishing powder that gives a soft focus, illuminating halo effect.  Love it!

Shop MAC – Dish It Up Lipstick and Scan-delicious Kissable Lip Color

The MAC Shop and MAC Cook collections hit my local counter a week early.  I picked up Scan-delicious and Dish It Up.  Both collections are gorgeous, and I would have brought more but I’m trying to save for a USA trip later this year.  I was really tempted by the tendertones, but I hate lipgloss in jars, it’s so messy!

There’s no special packaging with these, just a cardboard sleeve over the usual black boxes.

Scan-delicous is a kissable lip colour, which is a limited edition product.  I wish it were permanent! It’s a lovely formula, not sticky but still a little glossly and feels creamy and smooth on the lips.  Scan-delicious is a lovely rasberry shade – a cool reddy pink.

Dish It Up is a lustre lipstick.  It’s really pigmented (a lot more than flamingo) and a lovely pinkish purple.  In the tube it looks a lot like plumful, but as you can see by the swatch after the jump, plumful is more red, and Dish It Up has a much smoother texture.

Now on to the swatches…
